Mikroorganisms

We can collect microorganisms in 2 groups as bacteria and mold. While bacterias multiply quickly everywhere, molds are living creatures that are slow in their reproductive rates and love humid, moderate temperatures, dark or low-light areas.

Microorganisms have negative effects on both building structure and human health. Fungi can cause asthma attacks, as well as allergic disorders, irritation of eyes, skin, throat and lungs. It has also been found to cause asthma to start (WHO 2009). There are now thousands of mold varieties discovered and it is known that all molds are allergic and even dead molds are allergic. Many building materials are food sources for molds, and when they start to consume building materials, some chemicals (mycotoxins, microbial volatile organic compounds, MVOCs) toxic to humans are spread. In addition to this, they also cause construction materials to be degraded, surface disruptions and resulting weakening and deterioration of the substructure.

Mikroorganisms in Ventilation System

Ventilation ducts are laid between dark roofs / ceilings and may become a convenient environment for the microorganisms to survive / proliferate as a result of improper design, improper operation of the system or selection of incorrect materials.

The Technology Used in AFS HYGIENE SERIES

The technology we use is silver-based, and the anti-microbial nano silver particles are nano-sized and placed in a polymer capsule. This nano-scale built-in polymer capsule;

  • Safe and healthy anti-microbial
  • Is a strong anti-bacterial
  • Is a strong anti-fungal
  • It works by catalytic mechanism
  • Does not release the silver particles and thus is sensitive to the environment and long lasting.

The Antimicrobial Performance of AFS HYGIENE PRODUCT

The anti-bacterial capacity of the AFS Hygiene products was tested according to the ISO 22196 standard and the anti-fungal capacity was tested according to the ASTM G21 standard by the IMSL (Industrial Microbiological Services Limited) laboratory in the UK. Bacterial strains of gram (-) and gram (+), which are likely to exhibit different behaviors in anti-bacterial tests, were selected and tests were conducted against a total of 4 types of bacteria including Legionella pneumophila. The test duration is 24 hours for bacteria because of its rapid dehydration. For fungi, the reproduction is slow, and the test lasts 21 days.

In the IMSL laboratory tests, 99.99% anti-bacterial performance was achieved and 0 production in anti-fungal tests. This high performance has also been reinforced by tests (Table) conducted in Korea (FITI Testing and Research Institute) and in Italy (Eurofins / Biolab approved by the Ministry of Health).
