AFS was deemed worthy of an award for its efforts in green transformation at the 10th Carbon Summit titled “Sustainable Solutions on the Road to Decarbonization and the Power of the Green Lira”, held on April 14–15, 2025 at Istanbul Technical University’s Ayazağa campus.
As part of the 10th Istanbul Carbon Summit organized by the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜT-D) with the main support of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and Istanbul Technical University, the best corporate carbon management projects were awarded.
AFS was honored with this special award for neutralizing its Scope 2 emissions through data quality optimization and IREC certification efforts, reducing its direct emissions by approximately 40% and its indirect emissions by 22.15%*. This success was significantly driven by corporate carbon footprint calculations carried out in accordance with ISO 14064-1 standards, meeting all energy needs from in-house renewable energy systems, and improvements in data quality.
Ahmet Poyraz, AFS Assistant General Manager, stated every unit of reduction in our carbon footprint creates social, economic, and ecological benefits. This award stands out as a concrete indicator of AFS Boru’s transformation-focused efforts driven by its environmental responsibility approach.
